An information pavilion was organized, with the initiative of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), in cooperation with the BSEC BC International Secretariat, within the framework of the VINARIA 2010 International Exhibition of Vine Growing and Wine Producing & Wine Festival (Plovdiv, Bulgaria 14-17.3.2010).
South - East European Conference on Infrastructure
The Secretary General of the BSEC BC Ms.E.Bacopoulou participated as speaker in the South-East European Conference on Infrastructure in Focus of Internationalization entitled “New Perspectives for Interregional Cooperation between small and medium enterprises (SME)”, co-organized by the Association of Balkan Chambers and the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and hosted by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
The Secretary General of the BSEC BC participated as speaker to the UBCCE 3rd Business Forum “Seizing New Investment and Trade Opportunities in the Black Sea and Caspian in the post crisis era, held between 12-13th of December 2009 in Thessaloniki” and made an intervention at the panel on the impact of the crisis on regional economies and economic cooperation initiative in the Black Sea and Caspian” Businessmen and representatives from industrialist associations from Greece, Turkey and other UBCCE Members were participated. An opening address delivered by the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis.
BSEC Meetings
The Secretary General participated to the BSEC working group as well as the Ministerial Meeting on Energy, took place on 27 of January 2010 in Sofia. The declaration on the establishment of an integrated Black Sea energy market has been adopted by the Ministers. The Secretary General of BSECBC delivered a statement as well.
Joint activities with BSEC Related Bodies
The BSEC BC co-organized for first time together with BSTDB, ICBSS and UNDP, a Joint Workshop on the Regional Impact of the Economic Crisis on 4th December 2009 in Thessaloniki.The meeting considered to be very successful.
The BSEC BC Secretary General’s contacts in Brussels
The Secretary General had introductory discussions with officials of the European Commission in Brussels (14-15th of December 2009) for promoting the BSEC BC objectives and exploring possible cooperation with EU institutions. BSEC BC is ready to actively involve to initiatives for private sector’s development that fall within EU regional policies, mainly Black Sea Synergy’ partnerships.
Could a “Parliament of Entrepreneurs of BSEC” be established?
BSEC BC represented by the Secretary General to the 34th General Assembly of PABSEC, which took place on 23th of December in Moscow. Ms Bacopoulou presented a proposal to be further examined on the establishment of the “Parliament of Entrepreneurs of BSEC”, following the successful similar organization of the “European Parliament of Entrepreneurs” in October 2008.
